Charleston’s Experts in Perinatal Care + Neurological Pelvic Health

Concierge in-home pelvic floor therapy for pregnancy, postpartum, and neurologic pelvic health—lasting relief from pain, leaks, and intimacy issues starts here.

What to Expect: Our Process

  • This is our chance to connect and see if we’re the right fit for one another. You'll have the opportunity to share your story, symptoms, and goals in a relaxed, judgment-free space. We’ll also answer any questions you may have about our approach, pricing, and what to expect moving forward. If it feels like a good match, you can go ahead and book your initial evaluation during or after the call.

  • Before your first session, you'll receive digital intake forms to complete 24–48 hours in advance. These include your medical history, symptom details, and targeted pelvic health questionnaires—so we can make the most of our time together.

    Your 90-minute in-home evaluation includes:

    • A review of your intake forms and a deeper conversation about your symptoms and goals.

    • A comprehensive physical assessment that may include breathing mechanics, posture, balance, core function, and pelvic floor evaluation.
Note: An internal exam is never required—we gather valuable insights through external assessment, observation, and your feedback.

    • Treatment starts right away during this first session. This might include breathwork, gentle exercises, education, and strategies to help you feel better right from the start.

You’ll leave with practical tools and personalized guidance to begin improving your symptoms immediately.

  • Ongoing sessions are typically 45–60 minutes, scheduled weekly or biweekly depending on your needs and availability. These can be in-home or virtual.

    Each session includes:

    • Check-ins on your progress and symptom changes

    • Reassessment as needed

    • Continued, customized treatment such as:

      • Manual therapy

      • Nervous system regulation

      • Postural and movement strategies

      • Targeted exercises

      • Lifestyle and routine modifications

      • Guidance on hydration, nutrition, and more

We tailor every session to support your healing and progress at a pace that feels right for you.

  • You won’t be on your own between visits. We offer support between sessions via secure messaging for any quick questions or concerns. Whether you’re unsure about an exercise or need help staying on track, we’re here to guide you.

  • You did it—no more frustrating leaks, pain with intimacy, or discomfort holding you back. You feel strong, connected, and confident in your body and your role as a mother.

    At discharge, we’ll:

    • Celebrate your progress

    • Review improvements based on reassessments

    • Create a personalized maintenance plan to help you stay symptom-free

Your wellness journey doesn’t end here—we’re always here as a resource if you need us in the future.

Meet Your Therapist

I’m Sarah Kate, and I founded Charleston Pelvic Health to fill a critical gap in women’s healthcare—personalized, high-quality pelvic floor care that meets women where they are, physically, emotionally, and functionally.

As I watched friends navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, I realized how little support exists after delivery. We go from weekly checkups to a single six-week visit, all while adjusting to a newborn, a new identity, and a healing body.

I created a practice that provides the kind of care I wish I had during my own transition into motherhood—whole-person, home-based, expert care that removes the barriers of travel, childcare, and feeling of overwhelm. I meet clients in their own environment, helping them reconnect to their bodies, their strength, and their confidence.

At Charleston Pelvic Health, I help women across Charleston, SC feel more confident, supported, and strong through personalized in-home pelvic floor therapy. Whether you're navigating pregnancy, postpartum recovery, or a neurological condition like spinal cord injury or MS, I'm here for you.

About Sarah Kate…

While I have a special passion for postpartum recovery, my training equips me to treat a wide range of pelvic health challenges, including pain, incontinence, prolapse, and sexual dysfunction.

My clinical experience also includes treating individuals with neurogenic bladder/bowel dysfunction resulting from spinal cord injury, stroke, and MS, urinary urgency, incontinence, painful sex, constipation, and more!

Occupational Therapist

Over 7 Years of Clinical Experience
I earned my Master’s in Occupational Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and worked extensively in adult neurological rehab, including spinal cord injury, stroke, MS, and neurogenic bowel/bladder prior to focusing on pelvic health and transitioning to private practice.

Occupational therapy is a beautiful combination of science and creativity. As OTs, our unique foundation in anatomy, psychology, and task analysis gives us a superpower-like ability to connect with clients and problem-solve through some of life’s biggest challenges.

I love breaking things down to figure out how to make them easier—identifying where dysfunction is coming from and finding practical, lasting solutions. Working with clients in their natural environment allows us to use daily routines to create meaningful change. Incorporating home “exercise” programs into real-life routines is especially important for busy moms like me!

Mom, Wife, and (Super)Woman

I’m a mom to a sweet little boy and a wife to my supportive husband (a PT, anatomy professor, and my personal pain science consultant). We met at MUSC during graduate school and after starting our careers in Atlanta, GA we returned to Charleston where he teaches anatomy at MUSC – the same class in which we met.

Motherhood changed my body, my perspective, and my passion. It made me more empathetic and more determined to advocate for women’s health.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me:

  • Soaking up time with my family

  • Enjoying time outside

  • Baking something sweet

  • Reading a great book

  • Cheering for my Clemson Tigers

Why I Do This Work

I’m passionate about exceptional pelvic healthcare because I know how transformational it can be.

Whether you're dealing with pelvic pain, leakage, prolapse, or just want to feel like yourself again—I’m here for you.

It’s an honor to do this work. I feel inspired every day to support women in reclaiming their bodies, their health, and their joy.
